SMV Character Reference Template

Here is the template for your SMVillage character reference! Click "Download" on the right for the PSD file and you're ready to go. For a simpler, one-layer version, you can go here. 

The reference is divided into two parts: the visual half (the image) and the written half (your description). Both are required when you submit your reference, so work equally hard on them!

Don’t forget to read the Rules + How to Join post to learn more about how characters are classified and what types of characters can join the Village.

VISUAL HALF

The visual half of your reference must not only be fully colored, but also have the following:

• A full front and back view of your character’s senshi form

• Your character’s civilian form

• Any special items (henshin items, weapons, etc.) and guardians (including any alt. forms)

• Images of your character’s attack(s)

If your character doesn't have all of these (say, they have no attacks or weapons), you obviously don't have to include them.

Aside from the above requirements and keeping the layout the same, free to customize the template as much as you want: change the colors, change the font, change the background!

You’re welcome to add other images as necessary as well as short captions, but keep in mind that too much can make things more confusing. We don’t need to know every single facial expression your character can make. Consider what is really important for other members to know about your character, and stick to that!

As stated in the Rules, this is the only submission where you are permitted to use art created prior to the creation of this group.

Finally, please remember to fill out the information on the Template’s border! And feel free to ask the admins any questions if you have trouble with anything.

WRITTEN HALF

You’re also required to fill out the written description below and post this in the artist’s comments of your reference. For entries like “Backstory” and “Personality”, these should not be too long. If we have to scroll through paragraphs and paragraphs of either of these, we will most likely ask you to condense it before accepting your reference. Remember that less is more!
